Raku Workshop for Class Members - Wednesday November 24th 1pm - 2.30pm
This 2 1/2 hour workshop will enable you to start with the basic skills of Raku in the outside kiln.
You will be guided through the process of decorating with raku glazes and firing in the kiln with your tutor Joy Gibbs Price. With expert tuition you will be given demonstrations and careful explanations of the different stages of decoration, firing, cooling and quenching.
The experience runs for 2 1/2 hours approx and is outside so warm clothes are advisable.
You are able to make 3 Raku clay pieces in your usual class prior to the firing with specialist raku clay. This needs to be bisque fired the week before the raku firing.
